Children’s Literature Book

Books for beginning readers are an integral part of a child’s development. Begin this assignment by selecting a book for early readers. (Book selected was Click, Clack, Moo Cows That Type by Doreen Cronn). In a well-crafted, 3-5 page essay, making specific references to your book, consider the following:

the style of narration and illustration
any elements in the story that are not found in the illustration, and vice versa
whether the text and/or images appropriately represent multicultural and social values
visual or textual clues that may encourage non-readers or support learning and/or social development
Make an argument about the way this book contributes to the development of a child reader.

Remember:
Support your ideas with specific references to resources in the content guides and in your textbooks.
Your essay should be about minimum 3 pages, written in MLA style.
Please use Times New Roman 12pt font, double-spaced.
Cite all references correctly in MLA format.

Illustrations and Figures
Discuss at least three illustrations in your paper.
Include scans of the illustrations, so I can understand what you are discussing. (I have included PDF file of the book, if you can find color pages online then use those to discuss and include in the body of your essay.) See below:

Number your figures and insert captions: see https://style.mla.org/files/2016/11/DeSouza_paper_final.pdf#page=8
Thesis and Title
State your thesis at the end of your first paragraph.
Create a title for your paper that reflects your thesis; and incorporates the title of the children’s books you’re discussing in your paper.
Your thesis should be a statement about “the way this book contributes to the development of a child reader.”
Length and Structure
3–5 pages is equivalent to 750–1250 words.
Do a word count of the body of your paper, excluding your header, title, captions, list of works cited, etc.
Write at least half of a page each of
description;
analysis;
interpretation; and
evaluation.
Study the annotations in the MLA Sample Paper at the Purdue Online Writing Center and format your paper accordingly. https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/13/

In your paper, insert in-text citations, including both author last names and page numbers, for all references to peer reviewed sources, not just for direct quotes; and give complete publication information for all sources in a list of works cited, including the book you discussed.
