Climate change is one of the most significant issues facing the Circumpolar World – currently and certainly into the future. In a well written essay, explain why climate change is such a concern to the cultural and socio-economic environments of the Circumpolar World. Your answer will need to identify and evaluate what impacts climate change is currently having and projected to have on the people, their livelihoods, and their homelands. Examples from several nations within the Circumpolar region are required (i.e., do not restrict you discussion and evaluation to only North America). Your conclusion should include some brief speculation on what you see happening to this northern world in the next few decades – are you optimistic? fearful? hopeful?
