Dallas-based nonprofit corporation

Select a Dallas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation in their area of interest. To quality as an eligible entity to study, the organization must serve one of the purposes that are categorized as exempt under section 501(c)(3) as discussed in class and be either based in Dallas or an affiliate branch centrally located within the Dallas region. The goal of this assignment is to conduct an organizational assessment of the chosen nonprofit based on learned course concepts, including but not limited to: 1) philanthropic purpose and social change goals, 2) funding mechanisms and human resources, 3) logic model and/or theory of change, 4) outcome and accountability measures, and 5) community analysis and sector ecosystem. Students should ideally select a nonprofit with a robust online presence and well-developed website to access necessary information, and endeavor to produce a comprehensive interpretative analysis of the components highlighting areas of weaknesses, strengths, and opportunities (do the nonprofit’s attributes align with learned concepts? Do the approaches and features appear effective? Might there be evidence-based suggestions for improvements?).
