Maritime / Container ship containing undeclared highly toxic substances.

One of the container vessels under you as a vessel superintendent is discharging in the port of Hamburg,
while your office is situated in Southampton. The ship has reported that they have been contacted by the
authorities because some of the containers contain undeclared highly toxic substances. The report from the
master has stated that one of the containers is now leaking and the situation could escalate into a major
health problem.
The ship has to be moved to a special berth so that the containers can be carefully examined and unloaded.
Write a detailed report to the senior management of LSM on your actions, whom you contacted, how the
problem was sorted out and vessel able to discharge the remaining containers for the port and what are
your recommendations so that such a situation can be avoided in the future.
