Your first project is the Staff Study, an advanced form of the Decision Matrix. To complete this project, you will
select a topic–a problem or question–and work through the various courses of action that could be taken to
arrive at the best solution using the linked staff study format. Examples of successful topics in the past:
Which cell phone is best?
Which laptop computer to buy?
Which tactical equipment should an agency acquire?
Which patrol vehicles should be added to the fleet?
What should the standard issue firearm be at the sheriff’s office?
What is the best security solution for this store?
Many of these are purchasing decisions, but do not feel you are limited to this.
