Worth 100 points

There is a tremendous amount of freedom in this assignment. Since your professor is really the only person viewing this video (and I have read both texts more than once), I do not need an exhaustive summary of this text in your presentation. Rather, I want you to focus on major themes from the text that you can connect with Anthropology. I want you to use details from the book in order for you to have a discussion in your video about Anthropology. To say this clearly, the main point of this is to see that you have mastered Anthropology. Show me that you can integrate what we have read, discussed, or experience (from your Journeys) in class in a deep, meaningful way with a three (ish) themes or concepts from your book. I am not necessarily looking for a single theory, but rather two or major themes and how they connect with Anthropology. The details (which you should have some, i.e. quotes) that you provide from the Fadiman or Shaw texts, should be focused on your anthropological integration. In other words, don’t include details from the text if they aren’t relevant.
Please include references for outside sources. I don’t need a reference page for Howell & Paris, Shaw, or Fadiman. I am assuming you might use that information.

While creativity is encouraged and appreciated, your grade is overwhelmingly looking at content. Questions I will be asking as I view your presentations:
• Do they use their presentation time well? Or have they added lots of filler to use time?
• Are they demonstrating that they understand Anthropology through their integration?
• Have they demonstrated that they read the Fadiman or Shaw text, thus having interacted with an ethnographic study?
• Is their presentation focused, demonstrating depth of knowledge and understanding around a few concepts?
• Does their presentation reflect upper-level undergraduate analysis and critical thought?
