White Paper

Develop a white paper for advocating for the use of formative assessment FOR learning. Make a strong case complete with research citations and evidence for formative assessment as a tool for solving current problems plaguing PK -12 education. Include: 1. The main problems PK -12 is facing today and how formative assessment for learning can be a solution. 2. Define the audience you are focusing on for your white paper. (Local school board, media, parents in your community, policy makers, etc.) 3. Length: Three to five pages. 4. Create a title that includes the term “white paper” and describe the problem(s) you are addressing. 5. Write your introduction. Be very clear in identifying the problem(s) you are addressing. Keep the introduction to one succinct paragraph. 6. Provide background and use facts to support your discussion. 7. Use a powerful argument for how formative assessment FOR learning provides a solution to the challenges facing education today. 8. Make your conclusion and summary strong so people want to take action and support your solution
