Aristotle’s Neoarchean Ethics
- Read Aristotle’s Neomachean Ethics, Book VIII (pages 127-145 in the attachment). Aristotle suggests that friendship is found in the act of loving rather than in being loved. He suggests friendship is active. This is a biblical concept as well. In our individualistic society, this often does not come naturally to us. Consider this week’s reading and project on love languages as well as any passages from Scripture that might apply to this idea. How does applying the concepts regarding love languages relate to biblical love and Aristotle’s ideas about friendship?
