Briefly discuss the case dealing with residency requirements in New Orleans, Louisiana and/or the debate over New Jersey’s residency requirement for teachers and/or the Alaska Attorney General’s formal opinion on state government hiring practices. Do you believe that a municipality or state government should have the right to dictate where employees reside? What are some of the potential constitutional issues regarding such policies (or positions of such policies)?
