- In REEL BAD ARABS, Dr. Jack Shaheen discusses the various ways that Hollywood has presented Arab people in a negative light. Arabs have been shown often as exotic, sinister, untrustworthy, and a violent people. First, show how the concept of Orientalism intersects with Dr. Shaheen’s critical look at the Arab image in cinema. Second, give at least four examples of how Arab men are portrayed in the Cinema versus Arab Women (2 examples for men, 2 examples for women).
