Clinical Case/ Research Paper

Utilizing the field practicum and information covered in the textbook, additional readings, and handouts, each student/pair is required to complete a clinical case/research paper. Students will select an individual or family that he/she is working with in the field practicum and complete an evidenced-based case analysis. This assignment serves as the student’s major project. Guidelines for Clinical Case/Research Paper Select a clinical practice case that you are working with in your field practicum (i.e., children, individual, family, adolescent group, elderly, etc.) and research the specific social issues or barriers that affect the client system. (If you do not have one of these types of client systems, you will need to speak with the instructor to modify this assignment). Conduct a literature review of the topic (client issues and concerns) with a brief historical perspective. Describe the client system (provide a brief bio-psycho-social assessment). Based on your research, describe how you used the research findings and integrated the helping process, competencies, and practice behaviors to improve the client (s) situation (i.e., engagement, assessment, intervention strategies, theoretical framework, termination, evaluation, follow-up, etc.). Explain how you used the Afrocentric Perspective and the strengths-based perspective to engage diversity and difference in practice. Describe any ethical issues that may have been involved in working with this client system. What are the implications for Advanced Direct Social Work Practice? Discuss your role as a social worker. Explain how your domain is different from other professionals. At least twenty-five (25) citations from peer-reviewed journals and books should be used. Avoid extensive use of web resources (no more than five), and use APA format. Paper should be typed, double-spaced and between 12-15 pages. About my job and the field practicum place: Social Worker met with patient on this day. Today focus is centered on Patient's relationship with his mother and two brothers. Patient reports that due to STI session he has enrolled in a drug rehab program and is currently 10days free of drugs. Patient is currently residing at a Recovery facility. Patient reports that due to this worker intervention with him, he decided to enroll in the program. He wants to stop smoking cigs. but states this might be too much all at once. Social Worker encourage patient to decide on a number of cigs per day and stick with that number until he gradually comes off the cig. Patient states currently he smoke 10 or more per day. Social Worker encourage patient to try 5 per day. Patient states this sounds good and will give it a try. Patient spoke in depth about his relationship with his mother and three brother ( also on some type of drugs), relationship is currently unstable and provide some type of stress to patient. Social Worker reviewed stress management module with patient and encourage him to review past intervention we have covered in the past. S0cial Worker praise patient for his desire to be drug free. Social Worker will continue with next session.
