CQI assignment

  The purpose of this assignment is to develop a PowerPoint presentation to teach your colleagues how CQI could be implemented in your workplace. This could include information on how to reduce medical errors, strategies to improve patient or employee satisfaction, recommendations for health care reform, ideas for environmental preservation, ways to improve communication or learning, or a topic of your choice. It is important that an interactive teaching activity be included in this assignment. Some examples of interactive teaching activities include asking questions to check for understanding, leading a brainstorming session, asking attendees to share ideas and experiences, facilitating a role play, and surveying the audience using real-time polling tools such as Poll Everywhere (http://www.polleverywhere.com). It is expected that the PowerPoint presentation should be between 20-25 slides with use of the note section for expanding on content. All slide content must be referenced throughout the presentation, and APA style will be used for formatting. Title and reference slides are required. The PowerPoint should include the following components: • Title slide • Identification of topic • Three learning objectives for the educational event (Please refer to Iowa State University resource in the attached Learning Activity 1)) • Theory around topic with supporting literature (current, peer-reviewed references) • Description of why improving skills in this area is important for the organization • A strategic plan or innovative recommendations to develop the skills in the leaders of the organization • An interactive teaching activity (i.e., case study, quiz, video analysis, game, storytelling, blogging,-- be creative!) • Effective use of the note section of the PowerPoint • Engaging, effective, and clear content (Please refer to City University of New York - Baruch College resource attached Learning Activity 1) • A reference list for further review (at least 5 peer-reviewed articles or interactive credible websites) The PowerPoint presentation will be evaluated on: • Content (accurate and informative), • Rationale for presenting material, • Introduction of innovative strategies for building continuous quality improvement skills in the organization, • Appropriate and current reference list, • Use of peer-reviewed literature to inform educational event, and • Presentation (correct grammar and spelling, appearance, graphics and color use, readability, creativity).
