Criminal Law Discussion

Order Description 1- Respond to the following question: Have there been enough reforms to the crime of rape? Discuss. 2- This is a thread I want to simply react to it by giving constructive feedback to my classmates (Agree or disagree and justify your response) THREAD BY LUIS REYS Rape is defined as a person violates a victim's body integrity, psychological health and welfare, and sexual independence. Rape is serious crime and I believe it should be in the same offense as murder. Either a offender should get life in prison or even death. In 2013, there was over 79,000 reported rapes. Imagine if all of the rapes was reported. Because of the weak laws for rape, people continue to rape women and even men. It is sad that several states, treat rape as an assault against the person rather than as an offensive against sexual morality. The statutes refers to "criminal sexual conduct" or "sexual assault" rather than rape. One of the reforms that is in placed is the rape shield law which prohibits the introduction of evidence concerning a victim's past sexual activity. With the weak laws and the large amount of reported rapes I do not think there is enough reforms to the crime of rape.
