Evidence based practice ( Do uncircumcised men have higher risk of human papilloma virus infection to women) Paper details: Final Draft ----- Course Announcement ? NSG 8213 Sec 700 - Evidence-Based Practice - 2016 SummerFinal Paper and Annotated Bibliography Open Dismiss I wanted to send out an announcement prior to the weekend. I suspect that many of you are working on a draft of your final Evidence Based Practice (EBP) paper. I have started grading the Annotated Bibliographies and am seeing some trends. I thought it best to let you know one concern early in the process. The majority of the evidence for your paper should be primary source research from professional peer reviewed journals. Narrative reviews do not count. Websites with helpful information and a review of the topic do not count. UpToDate is very helpful in clinical practice, but does not count for this paper. Use those sources to find research articles. One key component of the paper is analysis and synthesis of evidence related to your clinical question. The main purpose for the three critical appraisal assignments (qualitative, quantitative, and clinical practice guidelines) is that it will guide you in navigating the evidence on your topic. You should have at least five primary source research studies that relate to your question. Some of you listed several primary research studies in the Blog #3, but then the annotated bibliography did not include them. Follow the directions in the EBP paper carefully. Review the chapters 5, 6, and 7 in Melnyk and Fineout-Overholt (2015) on critical appraisal if needed. You will be critically appraising the studies that you find on your topic. Further, synthesize the studies you find to form an answer to the question that you posed. Consider if there is clear evidence that an intervention or procedure is effective with the population being examined and identify gaps in the evidence. Dates and reminders. • Blog #4 Draft of the EBP paper--Wednesday, July 13 at midnight. Must have a minimum of 5 primary source research studies in the paper. Identify one area that you would want feedback (related to paper content, not just APA format). Chat
