Write a biographical essay on a person who was a participant in the civil rights movement in Selma, the Black Belt region or the U.S. between the 1930s-1960s. You will perform research using primary sources. These sources include newspaper articles from the Selma Times-Journal, Montgomery Advertiser, Birmingham World, Baltimore Afro-American, the Pittsburg Courier and the New York Times. You must use three (3) primary sources and two (2) secondary sources to produce your essay. You must use a newspaper article and a book as one of your primary sources.
