Thank you The Abstract page will be Approximately 200 words which begin “This dissertation...” and continuing in the present tense summarizes what happens in the dissertation. The abstract will contain each of the following: - 1. Problem or issue under investigation Methods used to address the problem or issue 2. Findings 3. Conclusions 4. Key words, from four to nine key words The introduction chapter will outline the study objectives, research questions and methods thatg were used in concution the research study and compiling the final research report. As outline in the proposal for the study, the study will:’ Consider the Government’s recent implementation of the Energy Performance Certificates (EPC’s), and its impact on the rental property market. The Aim: The aim of the dissertation is to investigate and consider the following: • Public awareness and opinion on the Energy Performance Certificates (EPC’S) • The reaction of the rented property market surrounding the implementation of the EPC’s. Objectives: The objectives of the study are • To determine the extent of landlords and tenants awareness of the recent introduction of EPC’s. • To determine the personal opinions of landlords and tenants on the implications of the EPC’s. • To analyse the reasons that led to the implementation of the EPC. • To evaluate common criticisms associated with the implementation of the EPC legislation. The literature review will be analytical in analyzing the findings of other related studies. Previous studies will enable the researcher to obtain in depth knowledge and understanding on the research topic Data Collection Quantitative research methods will be incorporated with the use of questionnaires, and this will be issued to selected tenants. Secondly, three qualitative interviews will be conducted with selected landlords. A further interview is to be conducted with a domestic energy assessor (DEA) and this is primarily to obtain their viewpoint on the EPC and its effect on the rented market. Primary data collection- Primary data allows the researcher to gain specific up-to-date data. Both quantitative and qualitative research methods will be incorporated into this research Quantitative data collection- This data will be collected using a pre-determined sampling approach. The respondents will be tenants from properties. Method of Analysis- Simple bar charts and pie charts produced in EXCEL. This approach will be used to compare the data for each of the questions in the questionnaire. The information obtained from the analyzed data will be used to make succinct conclusions on the study topic. The conclusions drawn will be used to formulate recommendations after which a reflection will be done. The paper will also include other sections such as appendix, references and bibliography.
