a.1 Discuss ways in which the national decision-making tool and associated flowcharts contribute to effective clinical decision-making safe nursing practice with reference to the current literature.
a.2 An example of a clinical decision made by a registered nurse in an home community setting (Student nurse- first time placement in home community setting and having a problem with the oxygen saturation machine and time pressure. The result showing was inaccurate whilst taking the oxygen saturation of a baby with cystic fibrosis, student nurse doing the troubleshoot of the machine and performing body system assessment to the baby. ). And with the reference to the national decision-making tool and current literature, critically analyse the key factors that may have influenced the Registered Nurse decision-making process. This may include to the codes of professional and ethical conduct, legislation, evidenced-based practice and scope of practice.
a.3 Conclusion
• Engages in therapeutic and professional relationships (500 words). In this component of the portfolio, nursing students are to contemplate the effects of communication on nursing by reflecting on a challenging communication interaction that occurred during placement.
