Psychology

Mirror neurons can be fascinating. View the video available at  http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/sciencenow/3204/01.html  •How do mirror neurons relate to your success in college, specifically General Psychology?  •Do you think it would it be possible to succeed in life without functioning mirror neurons? Why or why not?  •Describe the characteristics of a person with disabled mirror neurons.   *** One or more outside references cited, accurate APA documentation   Question 4  Conduct a search on YouTube to locate videos addressing the topics of classical and operant conditioning such as the one found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1JSUc1hB0g   Develop your own examples of classical or operant conditioning and be sure to address the following:  •In addressing classical conditioning: â—¦Identify UCS, UCR, NS, CS, and CR.  â—¦Discuss any stimulus generalization that you observed.  â—¦Discuss any extinction and spontaneous that occurred.    •In addressing operant conditioning:   â—¦Identify negative and positive reinforcements and punishments.  â—¦Label the schedule of reinforcement or punishment.    Please see the example of classical conditioning below:  We have an old Lab named "Bandit." When he was very young, he attacked a weed-eater and was cut on the nose. Since that time, weed-eaters have been Bandit's enemy. This is a case of classical conditioning. The pain of being hit on the nose was the UCS. No one had to teach Bandit to become angry when hit on the nose. The anger (barking) was the UCR. The weed-eater itself was initially the NS. Bandit had no reason to dislike the machine until it was paired with the pain. Now, starting the weed-eater, the CS, results in the CR. Learning has taken place. Bandit barks and attacks the enemy. The behavior has generalized to all small pieces of equipment which have a similar sound. Bandit gives a similar response to the chain saw.  *** One or more outside references cited, accurate APA documentation  Â
