Order Description MENA/HIST/RELI 277A A History of the Middle East, 600-1453 S. Lucas Paper Topic #2: Islamic Spain Write a 4-5 page paper on the following topic: Discuss briefly seven Muslim political and intellectual figures of importance in al- Andalus who lived between the years 800-1200. You should draw upon the assigned readings for class on D2L and Watt and Cachia’s, A History of Islamic Spain. This is a descriptive paper, so you do not need an argument, although you do need to make it clear why each of the seven individuals is historically significant. You should present the seven figures in chronological order. You may use additional sources from the UA library or articles from academic journals about Islamic Spain during this time period. All sources must be cited in either MLA or Chicago style.
