o Using insights from the course, develop a personal action plan to meet future leadership challenges. There are three parts to this.
o First, write two or three paragraphs about your strengths in leadership situations, possible weaknesses that you need to be aware of, and how you intend to develop your leadership capability.
o Second, complete a leadership development worksheet outlining your specific goals and your intended approach related to the company that you work for. Each of the parts is of equal value.
o Third, describe in relation to assignment 2 above, what you would now do to resolve the situation that you previously thought was poorly handled.

The ability of a leader to make important decisions is one of the most essential characteristics that they need to possess in order to become effective in their position. This is the reason why leaders need to gain enough experience and knowledge when it comes to striking a balance between reason and emotion. They also have to be accountable for every choice they make and know the risks that come along with it.
One of the situations where I felt that I failed as a leader was during the time when I had to make a difficult decision to prioritize one project over the other. The team was divided and it was up to me to choose which one to implement. It was only after a few months when I realized that I made the wrong decision and it made me feel bad about it because I felt that I disappointed the people who were looking up to me. Furthermore, it made me realize that I still have so many things to learn and it became a key learning for me to seek the opinions of subject matter experts (SMEs) especially when I feel unsure about things.
Since then, I promoted group thinking and brainstorming sessions such that there is strong internal communication within the team and we are able to make decisions that everyone is informed about. This practice also helped create better coordination and enabled increased motivation which helped all of us achieve our goals.
