Order Description -do ASA format for citation and reference - it should be times new roman 12 point font - I will provide the sources that was used for literature review in additional files. I will also provide the reading notes later on additional files. - design a research project that will answer your research question - In the standard format, subheadings are needed in research proposal! - Use knowledge from the reading notes - General proposal overview: -> Should be 7-8 pages not including literature review 1. Cover page: Name, TA assigned by last name, Title 2. Introduction(half a page) ? Research Topic : - have a broad intro about the topic -Have a general map to proposal: with topic, research question,and brief description of proposed research(methods) ex. Whether it is quantitative or qualitative 3.Literature Review - copy and paste the “literaturereview” document - make sure to have a transition into literature covering the topic 4.Details of proposed study(2 pages) ? Is it Applied or Academic research? ? Is the research cross-sectional or longitudinal? If longitudinal what type? ? What is the purpose of study? - is it Exploratory,Descriptive, or Explanative? -explain why based on methods! - don’t need to define necessarily but can define it, and make sure to explain the choice you chose to do for the study! Ex. This study is using longitudinal study because… ? What concepts are you working with? - In terms of concepts it means the broad and generalized concepts used in the study! Ex.gender relations(can expand on it) , draw it out from the literature review ? Deductive or Inductive? Positivist or Interpretive? -will mostly depend on the method used for the study (i.e. the concepts used from the literature review) ? Quantitative or Qualitative? Again, don’t need to necessarily define but can define it, and make sure to explain why the study is quantitative or qualitative! 5.Population of Interest(half page) ? Population of interest defined - In relation to research question, and drawing it from literature review - What is the sample to access the population(based on method) 6.Data Collection(2-3 pages) ? It is explicitly talking about the methods used for the study - Use/Reference “Chapter 5 Planning a study” - Also write about measures/observation strategy: -> variables, questions, observation technique etc. -> operationalization => Overall, explain what methods are used for the study. Explain the method and approach in detail 7. Ethics(half a page) By the given population and data collection technique: -What ethical considerations should be made? -How will the issues be addressed? 8. Conclusion ( 1 page) - Have an overall conclusion that wraps up the proposal -Have a contribution of the study to the literature -State the limitations or the problems anticipated with the research/study -Also discuss the potential impact of the study affecting policy or a specific group of people. Ex. The results of the study can improve the policy by… -> talk about how the research can be applied afterwards 9.References 10.
