Typography (historical essay)

Essay instructions: This is an exploration in typography. Do the following: Write a short historical essay about a typeface you like. Where did the typeface originate? How has it been used? What organizations, philosophies or ideologies has this typeface come to represent? What is it about the typeface that appeals to you? Minimum length: two pages double spaced, 12-point type.
