Water Plastic Bottles

my project is Two stages i have done stage 1 and i want you to make for me stage 2. the project is about choosing a topic and i choose the waste of water plastic bottles in my home and we should make it less or use alternative instead of using plastic bottles we can use glass. reduce the use of plastic. did one week data collection before awareness or making the solution, please you should make for me the same data collection but for two weeks after the solution which should represent the usage of glass bottles if we assume our solution will be glass bottles. so you need to improve my report in the first part because it is connected to the final stage and make my solution is buying glass bottles instead of plastic bottles. · these are NOT model reports, they are examples only – you don’t have to organise your report like this, as long as you include all important sections · please don’t copy from these – plagiarised work will not be marked · I have removed their references. In your report, please dont copy /paste from your research – you should use your own words and include in-text citations and references please at the end use my references and add more if you have because it is all related Plastic Bottles Student’s Name Institutional Affiliation Plastic Bottles Introduction The use of plastic bottles is one of the environmental challenges facing the current United Arab Emirates (Al-Qaydi, 2006). The increase in the amount of plastic bottles released as waste per day has risen to a tune of 4000 (Wasmi,2015). Being a non-biodegradable material, plastic is an adverse environmental pollutant whose effects are long-lasting (O'Connor, 2011). As a result, most developing and developed countries have made it their goal to reduce the number of plastic bottles that end up as waste. There are a number of reasons that make plastic a pollutant. There have been responsible for the death of marine animals and small birds. The bottles eventually find their way into the stomachs of various animals and kill them (Francis, 2013). The animals at the ocean are also affected by the plastic bottle chemical components as it interferes with their ecology (Prophet, 2012). Therefore, it is important to take all the possible measures to reduce the number of bottles that make a significant proportion of the UAE domestic garbage (Ellsbury, 2013, July 10). This study examines how I can approach the issue of plastic bottles used at my home appropriately to reduce environmental degradation that arise from their use. Review of Literature The chemical composition of the plastic bottles is Bisphenol A (BPA) that is proved to be hazardous to humans. The fate for the plastic bottles that are not recycled is critical. The manufacture of plastic materials including water bottles requires a lot of fossil fuels. For instance, petroleum is both a raw material and a source of energy for production of plastic. Failure to recycle plastic bottles makes them end up in landfills, thereby leaching various chemicals into the ground (Lights, 2012, May 8). Bottles are used in various sectors in the UAE. The increasing population in Abu Dhabi has led to an increase in the plastic bottles disposed of as waste every day. Failure to address the plastic bottle issue can lead to a significant degradation of the UAE environment. Some of the governments and municipalities have taken various measures to reduce the waste plastic bottles after realizing the necessity of reducing plastic bag land pollution (Tondorova, 2011). For instance, in Sharjah, a team has been established to sort plastic bottles and cans for recycling. The measure has seen approximately 40% of the cans being recycled (Wasmi, 2015, August 18 ). Methodology The study will focus on the average number of plastic bottles used on my home. The data will encompass each member of the family. Currently, my home purchases four bottles of water. Each of the packs contains 24 pieces of bottles made from plastic. The purchase leads to increased waste as the amount of bottle bought are in excess. The following is the data related to the weekly purchases; Bottles of water bought per week 3 Content of each box 24 Amount of water per bottle 500 ml To measure the average consumption of water per day in the family, every night I will count the number of bottles that each member of the family consumes. I will then create awareness among all the family members about the essence of appropriate use and disposal of the plastic wastes. The education will be associated with motivation to use large bottles of water instead of small ones. I will also purchase steel bottles for them to use in storing water whenever they leave home. Data analysis To establish the success of the approach of reducing consumption of plastic bottles, I will conduct an assessment after two weeks of creating the awareness. The assessment will encompass measuring the current number of plastic bottles consumed after the notification and compare the data with the previous number of bottles used. A significant reduction in the number of bottles used will signify success in the plan and a positive change towards reduction of land pollution by plastic bottles. Conclusion Solid waste pollution is one of the primary challenges facing the UAE as a result of the increase in population. Most of the wastes come from the households. Plastic bottles pose a significant challenge because most of the plastic products are non-biodegradable. Failure to address the issue of plastic bottle pollution can eventually pose a significant challenge to the integrity of the UAE environment and organisms. It will also lead to health problems among the people of the UAE because of the presence of dangerous chemicals in plastics. It is, therefore, necessary to employ measures that can reduce the use of plastic bottles among households Recommendations The primary approach to the reduction of the issue is to purchase the amount of water that is sufficient. In the process, I can avoid wasting a lot of water and disposing of a large amount of plastic bottles to reduce the number of bottles consumed. The other approach is to buy the water in large containers to avoid the number of bottles that are disposed from my home. The process will enhance disposal of water waste plastic bottles. The bottles bought can also be reused in storing spices, salt, sugar and other edibles. References Al-Qaydi, S. (2006). Industrial solid waste disposal in Dubai, UAE: A study in economic geography.
