World war 1 As this is a research assignment, you must consult at least three outside, scholarly sources, other than the textbook and class materials. Please include 750 words of written text. A header and a bibliography do not count toward this total. Double spaced. Twelve point Times New Roman font. One-inch margins. An introduction which includes a thesis statement providing the main argument for your paper, a body to the essay, and a conclusion is required. Paragraphs are expected to be 6-8 sentences (10-16 lines of text) and will give a complete and coherent thought. Only quote when you actually need to from one of your sources -- avoid quoting things that you can paraphrase in your own words or background information. Limit the amount of quotes, this paper needs to be your argument, not a particular source's ideas. Outside sources only from reputable sources (academic publications, scientist websites, etc., anything that is peer reviewed. Sources like Wikipedia or works by authors whose credentials cannot be verified are to be avoided. A bibliography is a must and you must cite all of your sources within your text -- not just direct quotes (use whichever citation system you are comfortable with). If you reference any class materials in addition to the required sources, cite them as well. Avoid the use of the first person in most instances -- instead of ?I feel the sky is blue,? use ?The sky is blue.?
